Memorial Day found me at the Bear Lake Cabin. My parents and oldest Brother and his wife were already there. Parked the car at the cabin on Friday night and then Saturday morning unhitched the mountain bike and headed down the hill to make my first attempt of biking around the Bear Lake. Rode from the cabin to Sweetwater condos and then turned right and rode to Laketown, then on around the lake. By the time we got to the power plant I knew we were not going to make the entire loop. Called Landon to come rescue us. We met him at the St Charles LDS Church.

Went into SLC to work on Electrical outlets. Couldn't smell smoke so figured it was a good day and headed home but had to stop for a ride down Legacy. Very cloudy and cool. The wind was blowing from the North today so it meant I had to pump harder on the return trip. I can't remember when I rode this trail without some serious head wind. I also decided to begin again listening to the B of M on my mp3. Made it through to 1 Nephi 17.

After going out to Amy Nielson's home to tar flashings (Oh I hope this stops the leaky roof), I headed to Legacy and rode my Mountain Bike. Cloudy and coolish. On the way back I chased two women on road bikes for about 8 miles. I'm sure they thought they could loose the old man on a mountain bike, but never did.

It was snowing this morning as I awoke. After making out an invoice, I grabbed my bike and headed out. Began down the trail from Farmington about 12:30 pm and peddled into a head wind all 12.7 miles. At times I found myself thinking I'd turn around and count today as a partial. But kept thinking how nice the return trip would be. Every tenth of a mile into the wind meant Two tenths for the day. I talked myself clear to the end and truely enjoyed the trip back. My MP3 player died along the way down so it was a quiet bike ride.

Storms in the forecast for this weekend so I got up and as soon as I could was on my way to ride Legacy. Listened to the first half of Sunday Morning General Conference session. The MP3 player ran out of juice before I did and so the return trip was without company of any sort. Cool but fairly calm morning.

Since it is my day and was told I can do what ever I want to.... And since I can't do that I decided to go for another bike ride down Legacy. Pretty daring if you ask me, since this is only the second day of bike serious bike riding and my calluses aren't formed yet. The sky has cleared up since this molrning ride and hardly a cloud in the sky. It was getting late and by the time I had completed to trip it was dark and getting cold. The trail was very busy tonight.

Those of you who might know me may recognize this date. Others might even know how many (?)
After pruning Bob Peterson's apple tree, I headed off to Legacy Parkway and rode the mountain bike tro the end and back. Nice thing about this ride is it takes about 2 hours to complete and that is what a General Conference session is also. Today I listened to the April 2010 P'hood session. Loved Elder Rasband's talk and also President Uoctdorf's on Patience. Got back to the burban and drove to SLC to work at Berrett's remodel.

After months of idle waiting in the garage, I got out the Mountain bike today for a serious ride. I've been out a couple of times this year. The first time was down legacy parkway only to discover a slow leak in my front tire. I was out 3 miles and on the return trip had to pump the tire up 3 times before getting back to the buran. Other trips were about the same lenghths. I did get a new tire from Amazon (should have seen the packing box it came in) to replace the old tire which you could see the tire tread showing through.
Today I was unsure if I'd make it the whole length on Legacy but decided to do it, on the very spring like day. About 6 miles into the road I received a long awaited phone call and was able to pull over and visit. Afterwards was able to complete the entire trip in spite of a stiff wind out of the southwest. Got back to Farmington Station and felt great. So begins my 2010 biking goals
